Reasons to pray:
We need to pray because the Bible commands us to (Matthew 6:5; Romans 12:12;
1 Thessalonians 5:17). Prayer is how we communicate with God and participate
in His works. It grants us the privilege of experiencing God, keeps us humble
before Him, strengthens the bonds between believers and can succeed where
other means have failed.
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.
Psalm 46:1 (NIV)
Please invite your loved ones, neighbors and co-workers to participate in your
community's National Day of Prayer observance and join with millions of our fellow
countrymen to be
America United Under God.
For Our Nation:
2 Chronicles 7:14 the Lord instructs us in the importance of praying for our
nation.
For Our Leaders:
1 Timothy 2:1-3 we are also told to pray for our leaders "that we may
live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness".
For Our Communities:
Intercessory prayer has the power to change your community.
For Our Families:
The family is an institution ordained by God. A healthy family should be a
